Time to catch up!

So, I'm behind again. It's so much easier for me to keep my facebook up to date because I can just upload pictures right from my phone. So if you want to see what we've been up to, facebook is the best place to look. I will try to update my blog more often though. Let's see...I forgot to mention that the last 6 weeks of school Michael filled in as the Assistant Principal which he loved! He's hoping to move into Administration soon. I'll start by going back to July 2011. July: July 14 Dallin joined our family. July 29 Dallin's 2 week check up-weighed 5lbs 13oz and was 18 3/4 inches August: Aug. 11 I celebrated my 26th birthday. Aug. 15-18 we visited my best friend Amber and her family in Henderson, NV which was a lot of fun! Aug. 29 Dallin smiled for the first time and made cooing sounds September: Sept. 9 Makayla started her 2nd year of Preschool. She is doing so well! She is really reading great now! She's very excited to be going into Kindergarten this coming Sept. 2012. Sept. 14 Dallin's 2 month check up-weighed 9lbs 20 3/4 inches October: Oct.9-12 Michael went to Texas for his Energy Conference Oct. 21 Was our ward Halloween Party. Our whole family dressed up as the Incredibles! Oct. 29 We took the kids to the Pumpkin patch on Beach and Lambert and we had a blast! Oct. 31 Halloween- Makayla got to wear her costume to school. That night we went to our old Ward's Trunk or Treat November: Nov. 15 Dallin had his 4 month check up-10lbs 12oz 23 inches Nov. 24 Thanksgiving-Had a great day with both sides of the family December: Dec. 3 We went to the LA Temple and saw the Christmas lights and went to the new visitor's center which is really nice! Dec. 8 Michael surprised me with a new front loading washer and dryer. I LOVE them! Dec. 9 Elder Quorum Ugly Sweater Christmas party. I had fun shopping for ugly sweaters and even added a Holly Berry to mine. Dec. 15 We took the kids to Disneyland after Michael got home from work. Of course is started raining right as we were on our way, but it stopped once we got there and we had fun. We got to go on the new little mermaid ride which was neat. Dec. 16-23 We flew up to Utah to visit my Aunt Laura and her family and my Grandpa and Grandma Ibey and their family. It was the first plane ride for the kids and they did a great job. We had so much fun while we were there. We shopped, played in the snow (their first time every) made candy trains, walked around Temple square and just had fun being with family. Man it was cold though!! Dec. 24 Christmas eve-Santa came to my in-laws to bring presents to the kids. Dec. 25 Christmas! This year Santa brought Dallin a stackable car toy. Landon got a Red flyer Tricycle, and Makayla got a Leapfrog LeapPad. We had a great time watching the kids open their gifts and loved spending the day with both sides of the family. Dec. 26 Landon switched from a toddler bed to a twin bed and he did pretty good. Dec. 30 We got Landon's hair cut-we got it spiked! Makayla also got her hair cut. Her first one ever! In my excitement and nervousness I must not have paid very close attention to how much was being cut because it was way more than I wanted! After it dried I was like ahh! It's too short! Makayla kept saying that she liked it, and that it was cute. I think we ended up cutting off like 6 inches! Both kids looked so cute, and looked older after! Dec. 31 We spent New Years Eve at my mom's (tradition} and we watch tv/movies and have lots of snacks/junk! That's about it for this past year. Now I want to write a little bit about each child. Makayla: She is doing so well in school. She's always learning new things and likes to ask what words mean when she hears a new one she doesn't know. She is reading and writing very well!! We are so proud of her. She is such a good big sister, but likes to act like she's the mom, telling Landon what to do, which he doesn't like. She is still taking dance classes which she loves and she's doing a great job. She still loves to play dress up, play board games, color, sing, dance and play mommy with her baby dolls. She is such a sweet girl but she does have a sassy side as well...We love her so much! Landon: He's been as busy as ever. He's really talking a lot now. Here are a few of the things he was saying at age 2-2 1/2: "couple minutes" "why not?" "I promise" "let me do myself mom" " I'm so sorry" "let's cruise baby" (from the movie cars) "No! I don't want to listen to you" "shucky darn" "I get older go hot air balloon" Would always ask "what happened?" "sure" "no fank you" (thank)"Bye Dad. Be safe. Don't get big owies" "I want to tell you a question" and many more. He got a few more teeth. (My kids are late at getting teeth) He loves taking a bath but really hates when water gets on his face. Wakes up at 6:30am ready to go but since he stopped taking naps in Oct. he goes to bed earlier, around 7pm! He's starting to listen better. Will sing "I am a Child of God" to Dallin if he starts crying. Can count to ten with some help, knows his shapes and colors. Loves to play with his cars from the movie Cars. Started potty training at the end of this year, but the more I push it the more he fights it, so I decided to back off for a little while. He likes to push his limits to see what he can get away with. He's our very busy boy but we love his so much! Dallin: He's been such a sweet little guy! He hardly every cries! He's doing a great job nursing and is usually done in about 10 min. Sleeps great in the bassinet. Loves to be in the moby wrap-almost always puts him to sleep. He smiled at 6 weeks and started cooing shortly after. People say he looks like Landon and Michael. When he gets excited he kicks his legs so we call him "happy feet". Has pretty much kept all the hair he was born with, but it's getting thicker. Started laughing around 4 months. Tries to roll over but his arm keeps getting stuck. He has been doing things a little later than Makayla and Landon did, but he's doing it at his pace which is just fine. He's a sweet, laid back little guy and we love him so much! I'm going post pictures separately...
